Here are some baby pictures of our green snake hatchlings. The first two emerged after 64 days in the eggs. They first cut the soft shell, and then over the course of 24 hours, enlarged the openings, practiced breathing, and took frequent breaks from this hard work.

The first two emerged within an hour of each other. The third hatchling emerged 14 hours after the first two, four hours after I enlarged the opening. But he was stuck to the yoke, and I decided to intervene and cut the cord to the yoke. He was fine after that.

Number 3 at three days.

We keep the hatchlings seperate in three "critter boxes" to better track their progress. This is particularly helpful to track their feeding. Momma's terrarium is right behind.
